Solo Piano CDs by Michael Jensen
Visitors to the Judy Garland Birthplace are occasionally treated to a live concert by Michael Jensen on the piano in the Gumm family living room. One of those visitors was vocalist Angela Fischetti ("Enter the Light"), who made this comment on Jensen's performance: "I say this to you from the bottom of my heart, that moment in Judy's house with you beautifully playing 'Over the Rainbow' while I was standing on the very landing she went up and down as a child -- I was looking at her baby photo atop the piano -- will remain one of the most glorious images in my mind for eternity. There were tears in my eyes. Your gift as a pianist is nothing less than extraordinary."

Songs the Gumm Family grew up with in Grand Rapids
From the late 1800s to the early 1930s, thousands of these traveling vaudevillians entertained in theaters across America. One family, by the name of Gumm, performed on some of these stages. While, up to now, not much has been documented on their performances, from these beginnings the youngest of them came to be known as "the greatest entertainer in the world," Judy Garland. This recording is a tribute to vaudeville and to the Gumm family as representatives of that life and the greatness that came from it. $14.95 | |

Hamilton spoke openly and lovingly of her relationship with Judy Garland. She detailed much of the happenings surrounding the making of "the Wizard of Oz" film, clarified misconceptions about the Munchkins and shed light on life at MGM and her personal acting career. This CD contains some of Hamilton's final words, as her death prevented her return to Grand Rapids. |
